Lemon Container
A Lemon Container holds a chain of effects in one mixer slot, or a chain of instruments and effects on one instrument. Each one in the chain gets its own wet and dry levels. Use it to keep a group of effects together, move them around as one, and layer instruments. It’s part of Lemon Studio only: there’s no VST3 or CLAP version.
Get a sound quickly
Section titled “Get a sound quickly”- Put two or three effects in the slots of a mixer track.
- Open the menu of the first slot and choose Wrap in container. The effect moves inside a container, which now sits in that slot.
- To gather everything instead, open any slot’s menu and choose Wrap all in container. All of the track’s effects move into one container, in slot order, and the other slots empty.
- Open the slot’s menu and choose Container ▸ Edit list…, or open the slot. The container’s window lists the effects.
- Turn each effect’s Wet and Dry knobs. Undo puts everything back.
Wet and dry
Section titled “Wet and dry”A container plays its effects one after the other. Each has two levels:
- Wet is how much of the effect’s own output goes on.
- Dry is how much of the sound that came into that effect passes around it.
A wrapped effect begins with wet at 100% and dry at 0%, so it sounds just as it did. Turn wet down and dry up to blend the effect in gently, one effect at a time. Both levels can be turned, typed in, reset and automated like any other control.
Editing the list
Section titled “Editing the list”In the container’s window, each effect has a menu with:
- Open editor to open the effect’s own window.
- Move up and Move down to change the order.
- Remove to take it out of the container.
The window can also add an effect to the list, and the window menu of an effect inside lets you replace it with another or delete it.
Instruments
Section titled “Instruments”A channel in the instrument rack can be wrapped too: choose Wrap in container from its menu. Its instrument moves into a container on the channel, and you can add other instruments and effects. An instrument you add begins with both levels at 100%, which layers it over the first one, and an effect after them works on all of them. The channel keeps its name, steps, piano roll, mixer track, volume and pan.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The slot’s name, colour and icon carry over to the container, and it’s saved with the project.
- A container plays its members in a straight line. Branches, several outputs and note processors aren’t there yet.
