Instruments and effects

Lemon Studio comes with its own instruments, effects, controllers and tools. They need no installing and no plugin files, and projects that use them sound the same on every computer.

Most of them also come as VST3 and CLAP plugins for other DAWs, in a separate download on the Download page.

  • An instrument: press F8 for the plugin palette and click it. It goes to the bottom of the instrument rack. The + under the rack and ADD ▸ More plugins… open the same list.
  • An effect: click an empty effect slot in the mixer and choose it. Or press F8 and click it, and it goes in the selected track’s first empty slot.
  • By dragging: drag either one from the browser’s Plugin library. The palette itself doesn’t drag.

All of them share one look, called Pith, and the same habits:

  • Hover over any control to read its name and value in the window’s title bar. In another DAW, it shows inside the plugin’s own window.
  • Knobs and faders turn with a drag. Right-click one for its menu: Reset, Copy value, Paste value, Enter value… and Create automation clip.
  • Lemon means on. Anything lit lemon is switched on or chosen.
  • Greyed-out controls aren’t available yet: an outline with a dim label.
  • Presets are in the window’s title bar. Click the Presets box for your own presets and the factory ones, and step through them with its arrows.
